Jade Music Fest & Awards is an annual music event which aims to make Vancouver the North American hub for Chinese-language music through the elevation of underrepresented Sinophone artists in BC.
The Society of We Are Canadians Too (SWACT) is a non-profit based in BC supporting the normalization of the IBPOC community through multiple arts.
For 2023, Seeing the Music project will encompass ten posters inspired by the songs on selected playlists. These visual designs will go up on our event sites and/or participating partners, such as nearby cafes and restaurants, to help promote JMFA and turn up the interest in Chinese-language music in Vancouver. We will offer $500 per piece to artists whose work is chosen for the project.

Jade Music Fest is grateful to be held on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish Nation), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). We acknowledge our privilege to operate on these lands, and commit to work with and be respectful to the Indigenous peoples whose music and culture encourages us to better listen to each other.
