Aiko Tomi

富愛子

Hyperpop artist AIKO TOMI is known for her big energy and adventurous songwriting. Empowering, rebellious, and undeniably fun, her debut album, “Animal’s Awake” is a fierce and joyful self-reclamation. With vocals ranging from punky kawaii-rap to belting pop-anthems, AIKO TOMI’s dynamic live performances and vibrant visuals are supercharged by her bold, spontaneous physicality. She showcases independent artists with diverse perspectives through a curated, self-produced live music series, “The Cult of AIKO TOMI” — each instalment featuring a playful, unexpected theme. She has been featured on Complex Canada, CBC radio, smART Magazine, the TD Music Connected Series, TAIWANfest and Breaking Sound.

"I write songs that reflect my stories and give voice to an underrepresented perspective in pop music, offering a fresh take on diasporic narratives and celebrating all that make us weird and unique."

Jade Music Fest is grateful to be held on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish Nation), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). We acknowledge our privilege to operate on these lands, and commit to work with and be respectful to the Indigenous peoples whose music and culture encourages us to better listen to each other.
