陳群懿的音樂就像來自摯愛的一個擁抱。誠懇、療癒且富有思考，她透過細膩的歌詞與優美的指彈，將故事編織在原聲民謠與室內流行的基礎上。她把東南亞城市的天際線與太平洋西北的山脈轉化為情感音景，融入她跨國生活的經驗。出生於新加坡、現居多倫多的她，透過音樂探索東南亞離散族群的複雜處境，以及她身為新加坡華人（廣東—福建血統）的身份。她的歌曲交織著身份掙扎與對社群與歸屬的渴望，呼應著許多移民的共同經歷。動人而療癒，她的音樂像是黃昏與黎明之間的低語對話、童年故居的回憶與半吐半露的夢境，始終圍繞著對人類連結的追尋。
陳群懿於 2022 年憑藉首張 EP《All We Are》進入獨立民謠樂壇，這張作品收錄六首關於韌性、心碎與前行的歌曲。2024 年，她推出最新單曲〈Human〉，結合民謠與室內流行元素，並搭配由她共同執導與製作的極具視覺張力的音樂錄影帶。〈Human〉的核心是一個深刻的提醒：我們被那些遇見並環繞我們的人所塑造。這首單曲向她在多倫多、奧勒岡、新加坡以及其他曾經居住過的地方的多元社群致敬，展現她身為創作歌手與視覺創作者的能力。
目前，陳群懿正在籌備下一個錄音計畫，延續她獨特的音樂風格——在精緻的指彈、深刻的歌詞與遊牧般生活帶來的多重影響之間取得平衡。她曾與 Sofar Sounds、皮爾遜國際機場的 YYZ Live、CMI Live，以及比利畢曉普機場的《Music On The Fly》合作演出。她也將亮相於 CMCTV Talent 即將推出的第三季，並且是 Small World Music Centre Incubator 與 SOCAN「Equity x Production」導師計畫的校友。陳群懿經常出現在多倫多的在地場館中演出，形式多變，既能以個人獨唱呈現，也能帶領完整樂隊登台。
Chinyi C’s music feels like a hug from your favourite person. Honest, soothing, and thoughtful, she tells stories through intimate lyricism and lush fingerpicking rooted in acoustic folk and chamber-pop. She pulls emotional soundscapes from Southeast Asian city skylines to Pacific Northwest mountains into her music, drawing on her experiences living across countries. Singapore-born and Toronto-based, she navigates the complex experiences of the Southeast Asian diaspora and her Singaporean-Chinese, Cantonese-Hokkien roots through her music. Her songs blend the struggle of identity with a longing for community and belonging that underscores many immigrant experiences. Compelling and healing, they evoke whispered conversations in the time between dusk and dawn, memories of childhood homes, and half-spoken dreams, always centering on the search for human connection.
Chinyi C broke into the indie folk music scene with her debut EP, “All We Are” (2022), a compilation of six songs on resilience, heartbreak, and moving on. In 2024, she released her latest single, “Human”, a folk and chamber-pop exploration accompanied by a visually compelling music video that she co-directed and produced. At its heart, “Human” offers a reflective reminder: that we are shaped by the people we meet and surround ourselves with. The single pays homage to her diverse communities in Toronto, Oregon, Singapore, and all the places she has called home, showcasing her capacity as a songwriter and visual creator.
Currently, Chinyi C is in the process of developing her next recording project, building on her signature sound that balances intricate fingerpicking, poignant lyricism, and a blend of influences from a life on the move. She has played shows with Sofar Sounds, YYZ Live at Pearson International Airport, CMI Live, and Music On The Fly with Billy Bishop Airport. She is featured in CMCTV Talent’s upcoming Season 3, and is a proud alum of the Small World Music Centre Incubator and SOCAN’s Equity x Production Mentorship Program. Chinyi C can often be found in local Toronto venues and plays in varying formats from solo artist to a full band.
