Chiu Shu
Chiu Shu is a multidisciplinary performer working across music and theater. With clear and airy vocals—often described as a natural vocal effects unit—Chiu Shu merges folk guitar with original Hakka-language songwriting and strong narrative elements, crafting emotionally rich performances that balance stillness and movement with captivating precision.
Chiu Shu has received multiple accolades for her solo work, including the Golden Indie Music Award for Best Folk Album. Her debut album “Waiting the Present for” was also nominated for Best Hakka Album and Album of the Year at the Golden Melody Awards.She also performed the theme song for the film “The Child of Light”, which won Best Theme Song at the 2021 Asian Academy Creative Awards.
Her theater collaborations span a wide range of companies across Asia, including Shakespeare’s Wild Sisters Group (Taiwan), the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Yat Po Singers, and the Our theatre (Taiwan), among others. She actively explores interdisciplinary and cross-cultural productions.
Chiu Shu 是一位橫跨音樂與劇場的多領域表演者。她以清澈、輕盈的歌聲——常被形容為「天然的人聲效果器」——將民謠吉他、原創客語創作與強烈的敘事元素融為一體，打造情感濃度十足的現場，並以引人入勝的精準度在「靜」與「動」之間取得平衡。
她的個人作品屢獲肯定，曾獲金音創作獎「最佳民謠專輯」。首張專輯《Waiting the Present for》亦同時入圍金曲獎「最佳客語專輯」與「年度專輯」。她並演唱電影《The Child of Light》的主題曲，該曲於 2021 年亞洲內容大獎（Asian Academy Creative Awards）獲「最佳主題曲」。
在劇場領域，Chiu Shu 與亞洲多個團隊合作，涵蓋台灣的莎士比亞的妹妹們的劇團（Shakespeare’s Wild Sisters Group）、香港小交響樂團（Hong Kong Sinfonietta）、一舖清唱（Yat Po Singers）與台灣阮劇團（Our Theatre）等。她持續積極探索跨領域與跨文化的製作可能。
