As a Canadian born Cantonese arts lover and worker, it’s incredibly important for us to celebrate the diversity in our culture. Having a platform to discuss and share offers us opportunities to be even more creative and innovative not only for the music itself, but how we market and promote it.
Dorcas, a Canadian born music professional working for Sony in the greater China area, based out of Hong Kong, has a great understanding of what it would mean for Canada to elevate the Chinese languages. Dorcas has seen how Chinese language artists in North America struggle to find their place, their market, their own space in North America, and they end up leaving Canada for good. Dorcas has a lot to share with all of us on her visit. We are looking forward to Dorcas’s gracious and great insights.
