What is Red Music Envelope?

Red Music Envelope is a project launched by Jade Music Fest (JMF) that celebrates Lunar New Year by combining the tradition of red envelope gifts with the unifying power of music. 2026 marks the second year of this initiative.

In the fall of 2025, Jade Music Fest in Vancouver hosted a songwriting session led by artist Eunice Keitan. Twelve Asian Canadian singer-songwriters and musicians from across Canada participated, contributing to both the songwriting and recording process. The participating artists include: Caroline Ding, Chinyi C, Dr. Holic, Eunice Keitan, James Tseung, Jacq Teh, Kristin Fung, Shinlok, Sunny Daydream, Violet Ziyi Grace, guitarist Tony Choi, and producer/bassist Dennis Law.

The song begins with “Gong Xi Fa Cai” and explores the question they asked together: “What is wealth?”

JMF is a platform for emerging and established Chinese-language artists to share their passion for creating music connected to their languages and roots. It takes place biannually in Vancouver, Canada and Taipei, Taiwan.

「紅【樂】包」計劃結合傳統喜氣的經典象徵「紅包」與音樂的力量，慶祝農曆新年，凝聚跨文化、跨族裔和跨世代的加拿大社區，並跨越國界散播到世界。

這項計劃由 Jade Music Fest(JMF) 與社區夥伴共同發起，今年是第二年。Jade Music Fest 是一個每年於加拿大溫哥華及台灣台北輪番舉行的音樂節，致力於為新生代華語音樂人提供展現母語創作的平台和機會。

More Than Money is a Lunar New Year collaboration by Jade Music Fest and LunarFest, bringing together 12 Asian-Canadian artists from Vancouver and Toronto. Sung in Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, and English, the song reminds us that we are already rich — in family, friendships, and the people who walk through life with us.
