Creative BC brings a strategic and integrated approach to the growth and development of British Columbia’s creative sector. The organization is an independent society created and supported by the provincial government to sustain and help grow British Columbia’s creative industries, which are defined as those generating original storytelling content for mass production, global distribution and consumption: motion picture, interactive and digital media, music and sound recording, and magazine and book publishing.
BC Community Gaming Grants
BC Community Gaming Grants support not-for-profit organizations throughout British Columbia, helping strengthen communities through arts and culture, sports, public safety, human and social services, and other community-based programs.
FACTOR
FACTOR (The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings) supports the growth and development of Canada’s music industry by investing in artists, music organizations, and initiatives that strengthen the Canadian music ecosystem through creation, professional development, and audience engagement.
BC Destination Events Program
The Destination Events Program supports tourism, arts, culture and sport events throughout British Columbia to drive economic growth and position the province as a leading destination for diverse events.
Government of Canada
The Events component of the Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program (MARP) provides funding to community-based events that:
- promote intercultural or interfaith understanding
- promote discussions on multiculturalism, diversity, racism and religious discrimination
- celebrate a community’s history and culture such as heritage months recognized by Parliament
City of Vancouver
The City of Vancouver supports a vibrant and diverse arts and cultural community by investing in artists, cultural organizations, and creative initiatives that enrich the city and create opportunities for people to connect through arts and culture.
Hakka Affairs Council 客家委員會
The Hakka Affairs Council of Taiwan, officially established January 1, 2012, is a new agency resulting from the Executive Yuan’s structural reorganization. Its predecessor was the Council for Hakka Affairs, Executive Yuan, founded on June 14, 2001. The Council is the only central authority responsible for Hakka affairs in the world, and its mission is to revitalize Hakka and culture, build a unifying Hakka identity promoting happiness, confidence and dignity, and become a global center for Hakka cultural research and exchange.
Vancouver Civic Theatres
Vancouver Civic Theatres is owned and operated by the City of Vancouver, and includes the VCT Board, which advises City Council on the operation, use, and improvement of the theatres. VCT is committed to developing, enhancing and promoting the city’s vibrant arts scene, sharing with the world the astonishing breadth and depth of Vancouver’s creative community and cultural entrepreneurs.

Editor Charlie Smith, with decades of experience in Vancouver’s journalism circle, commits to telling “people stories”, sharing the unique thoughts of talents that mainstream media might overlook. Run by a registered charity, Pancouver’s articles are free to read online and offerend in multiple languages. Pancouver believes that accessibility is the first step to engaging the public, and through the translation process, they hope to break down silos between the diverse communities of Vancouver and Canada.

Talentvision brings full coverage of news and entertainment to every Chinese Canadian household and works hard to act as a bridge for communication and understanding between the Chinese society and other cultures.
Fairchild Radio
Established in 1993, Fairchild Radio Group is Canada’s only national multicultural radio network. With operations in Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary, Fairchild Radio has been serving the multicultural communities of Canada with three FM and two AM stations.

UBC Department of Asian Studies
Since our inception in 1961, the Department of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia has become one of the leading Asian Studies programs in Canada. Currently, we offer intensive programs to all students pursuing an Undergraduate, Masters and/or PhD.
We offer over 350 courses each year including our comprehensive language programs that cater to all levels, perfect for heritage and non-heritage learners. We give instruction in ten Asian Languages: Modern Arabic, Cantonese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi-Urdu, Persian, Punjabi, Sanskrit and Tibetan and have a number of additional departmental initiatives as well.
Hong Kong Studies Initiative
Hosted by the Department of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia, the Hong Kong Studies Initiative (HKSI) is devoted to promoting the teaching and research of this most-improbable metropolis, both as an extraordinary Chinese city and as a spectacular international and transnational hub. Our goal is to facilitate the creation and transmission of knowledge about the past and present of Hong Kong, both by fostering academic research and dialogue as well as by building bridges between academia and the community.
UBC Green College
Green College is a graduate residential college at the University of British Columbia where interdisciplinary conversations and ideas thrive. Every year, about 80 graduate students, 15 postdoctoral scholars and numerous visiting scholars call the College home and create a unique, vibrant academic community.
Whether attending a free public lecture, becoming involved in resident life or enjoying warm hospitality, Resident Members develop a global network that reaches beyond the College’s spectacular view of ocean and mountains.
No matter what happens at the College, one thing remains constant: the founding philosophy of “Ideas and Friendship.”
TAIWANfest
TAIWANfest is a cultural exchange platform held annually in Downtown Vancouver for over 30 years. Rather than solely focusing on Taiwan’s stories, the core idea of the event is to foster cultural connections between Taiwan, specific countries of the world, and Canada through themed programming each year. It aims to make the Taiwanese community a promoter of Canada’s multiculturalism. The festival bridges Taiwanese culture with mainstream Canadian society and various ethnic groups.
Huashan 1914 Creative Park
Huashan 1914 Creative Park is a bustling landmark in Taipei, known for its convenient transportation and iconic status in the cultural industry. It encompasses a diverse range of activities in the arts, including dance, theatre, music, film, and exhibitions. Huashan 1914 Creative Park and the Society of We Are Canadians Too have jointly planned JMF in Asia to provide a platform for global Chinese-language musicians. As the hub of Taiwan’s cultural industry, it has also attracted a variety of partners engaged in this initiative, such as theatre, music institutions and NGOs.
Granville Island
In the 1970’s, Granville Island began its successful transformation from an industrial wasteland to one of the most beloved public spaces in Vancouver.
As Vancouver’s premier artistic and cultural hub, located in an urban, waterfront location and steeped in a rich industrial and maritime heritage, this unique destination attracts millions of visitors each year from Vancouver and around the world.
Asian-Canadian Special Events Association
Founded in March 2004, Asian-Canadian Special Events Association (ACSEA) continues to create sustainable projects in the areas of arts and culture, working with partners across British Columbia, Canada, and internationally following a threefold mandate:
1. Community Engagement – to identify and explore opportunities with organizations and communities to encourage cultural exchange and showcase their celebrated diversity.
2. Fostering New Artistic and Cultural Expressions – Foster new expressions that reflect the unique and vibrant nature of Canada’s diverse population and encourage innovative approaches to artistic and cultural presentations.
3. Platform to Learn and Share – Provide a sufficient platform where traditions of all cultures are presented and celebrated, completing the process of cultural exchange.
ACSEA has a long history of curating and producing large events, including a very successful partnership with Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Cultural Olympiad.
ACSEA’s signature events are spread throughout the year: LunarFest and the Lantern City in the winter, and TAIWANfest Vancouver in the summer.
Taiwan Canada Society
Taiwan Canada Society is dedicated to bridging civil societies between the two countries, exploring cultural, artistic, and social themes for mutual reflection and learning, and proposing innovative solutions to social issues faced by both sides. Since last year, we have partnered with the Jade Music Fest in Canada to co-organize Jade Music Fest in Asia, fostering a transnational network of artists who create music in their mother tongues. This festival aims to gather underrepresented artists to amplify their voices, advocating for language equity and multicultural equality.
One Night Talk
OneNightTalk604 is an online platform created by a group of locals in Vancouver, focusing on Cantonese podcasts made by Hongkongers in the city, sharing stories about everyday lives for everyday people. Currently, there are 34 hosts producing 13 shows, and they are developing their third season.

Arts for Canadians Tomorrow Society is a dynamic organization dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of our community. Our mission is to elevate public appreciation of the visual and performing arts through a diverse range of exhibitions, performances, and events. We provide a vital platform for talented artists to showcase their work, fostering creativity and connection within our vibrant artistic community.
