A heartfelt celebration of the songs that shaped our parents’ and grandparents’ lives. From beloved pop hits of the ’70s and ’80s to treasured folk tunes passed down through time, this concert brings soulful performances and fresh interpretations that breathe new life into these enduring classics.
As they reconnect with their mother tongue, JMF artist Van Lefan and Jacq Teh rekindle the music their families cherished, rediscovering the Mandarin classics that quietly shaped their artistic paths.
Van Lefan, a Taiwanese-Canadian folk artist from Vancouver, and Jacq Teh, a Toronto-based jazz singer-songwriter of Vietnamese and Myanmar Chinese heritage, pay tribute to legendary artists such as Teresa Teng, Chyi Yu, and Tsai Chin, whose voices defined an era, creating a musical bridge that brings generations together.

加拿大音樂人致敬鄧麗君、齊豫、蔡琴與經典老歌
當加拿大的年輕音樂人重拾母語，開始嘗試以華語創作，首先喚起的是那些父母曾哼唱、播放過的經典老歌。這些華語經典成為跨世代的共同語言，刻印父母與祖父母的生命歷程，也默默影響了新一代創作者的音樂道路。
走進華語經典歌曲的黃金年代，向鄧麗君、齊豫、蔡琴等傳奇音樂人致敬。從七〇、八〇年代廣受喜愛的流行金曲，到口耳相傳的民謠旋律，溫哥華的台裔民謠音樂人樂凡，以及多倫多出生長大、擁有越南與緬甸華人血統的爵士創作歌手鄭寶欣聯手演出、重新詮釋，拉起離散社區看似斷裂的文化隔閡。

Forbidden City
Canada’s First and Only C-Pop Drag Extravaganza
This year, Jade Music Fest is collaborating with drag performers for the first time, unveiling an exciting new form of our music program. It celebrates the vibrancy of the Chinese-speaking world while highlighting Canada’s cultural diversity.
“Forbidden City 紫禁城” is led by drag queen Wanting Moi and brings together Vancouver’s Mandarin-speaking queens and kings, making it the only locally produced Mandarin drag show in North America.
Spanning 90 minutes, the performance features a medley of classic Mandarin pop hits, from sweet divas to fierce trendsetters, paired with dazzling costumes and stage charisma for an unforgettable audiovisual experience. Fans of drag culture—bring your friends, whether they speak Chinese languages or not—and witness the unique sparkle of this Canadian Mandarin drag extravaganza!

加拿大唯一全華語音樂變裝秀
Jade Music Fest 今年首次與變裝皇后合作，解鎖嶄新的華語音樂演出形式。既展現華語世界的精彩，也是加拿大多元的特色之一。
《Forbidden City 紫禁城》由變裝皇后 Wanting Moi 領軍，集結溫哥華以華語為母語的變裝皇后／國王們，堪稱北美在地唯一的華語變裝秀。
長達 90 分鐘的演出，融合多首經典華語唱跳神曲，無論是甜心教主還是怪美天后，搭配華麗造型與舞台魅力，帶來前所未有的視聽體驗。喜歡變裝文化的觀眾，帶上你「管他懂不懂華語」的朋友，一睹這場加拿大華語變裝秀的獨特光采！
The Circle: Jazz
An immersive journey of jazz, improvisation, and conversation
The Circle : Jazz brings the spirit of improvisation and conversation to Jade Music Fest. Rooted in the festival’s mission to celebrate Chinese and multilingual voices, this live session creates a shared space for musicians and audiences to listen, respond, and groove together.
A band and guest artists move freely between songs, languages, and rhythms — blending jazz, spoken word, and cultural soundscapes into one continuous flow.
The performance unfolds in six evolving sections, each shaped by dialogue, breath, and collective energy.
It’s a moment where Cantonese, Mandarin, and English meet on the same pulse — a reminder that music, like language, lives best when it’s shared.
即興對話：爵士
即興爵士與對話共生的沉浸體驗
The Circle：Jazz 將即興演出與對話的精神帶進 Jade Music Fest。這場現場演出扎根於音樂節「慶祝華語與多語之聲」的初衷，為音樂人與觀眾創造一個能夠彼此聆聽、回應、共鳴的共享空間。
樂團與音樂人在歌曲、語言與節奏之間自由流動，將爵士樂、口語和多元文化的聲音景觀交織成一段不斷延伸的樂章。
整場演出分為六個不斷變化的篇章，由對話、氣息與集體能量共同塑造。
這是粵語、華語與英語同拍共振的時刻——提醒著我們，音樂如同語言，唯有分享才能真正鮮活。
